The IMAGO Balkan Conference, held within the scope of the 44th Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers Film Festival in Bitola, North Macedonia, took place from September 24th to 26th. Our association was represented at the conference by Mehmet Aksın (GYD) and Ece Latifaoğlu (GYD).
During the conference, three main topics were discussed, including working conditions, limited budgets, and creativity, as well as Female Cinematographers in the Balkans. The working conditions and durations in each country’s industry were also discussed.
The majority of delegates discussed the challenges of working with limited budgets and explored solutions for overcoming these challenges. Additionally, decisions were made to initiate efforts to increase the number of female cinematographers in the Balkans.
